沖縄にあるちゅら海水族館で、6月16日に「黒潮の海」水槽で生まれ、当館の海上生簀で餌付けを行っていたオニイトマキエイ（マンタ）ですが、21日、死亡が確認されました。
沖縄美ら海水族館では、世界でも初めての繁殖であることから、細心の注意をはらって飼育にあたっていたが、残念ながら長期飼育にはいたらなかった。

ヒルトン受刑者は同日、足首に発信機を付けて自宅に戻った。４０日間の自宅謹慎が科せられるという。 ヒルトン受刑者は、世界的なホテルチェーンを創業したヒルトン家の令嬢。昨年９月、酒気帯び運転中に摘発され、３年間の保護観察処分を受けると同時に免停に。しかし今年２月、ロサンゼルス郡内で運転しているのを警察官が発見し、同郡地裁が５月、４５日間の収監を命令した。その後、素行が改善しているとして収監期間は２３日間に短縮された。

私が選んだニュースは５月５日に起こったエキスポランドのジェットコースター「風神雷神２」が
脱輪した事件です。
大阪府吹田市の万博記念公園内にある遊園地「エキスポランド」で、５日午後零時５０分ごろ、立ったまま乗る人気ジェットコースター「風神雷神２」の２両目が脱線してコース脇の鉄柵に衝突、１９歳の女性会社員が即死した。２０歳の友人女性が重傷を負ったほか、男女１８人が軽傷。
